He’s produced Punk Rock, Metal, Jazz, Country, Hip Hop, Folk and Electronica recordings. “I try to work with artists that move me and Skip Hahn is one of the most talented and imaginative players I’ve had the pleasure to work with.”
Skip Hahn has been studying and playing Popular and Rock music since the age of 10. Always the sideman, he developed chops on guitar, piano, drums, and vocals. The main goal of all this learning is to enhance the songwriting, which has always been one of his favorite activities. Southern California is home for Skip, as well as many new cutting-edge artists in the 21st Century. Working with Jon St. James on tracks for the 'SSQ' "Playback" album (1983) led to becoming a member of the band, and evolving into the 'Stacey Q' project. They recorded several albums together, which accounts for some of his most notable recording/performing experience, so far. Jon and Skip also produced an album together called 'Fast Impressions' (1986). 'Echo Junkies' is another chapter in the series, and a natural progression in musical style for them. "Since meeting as teenagers and playing in bands together, Jon St. James remains a major influence in my progress as a recording/performing, songwriting musician. He has the highest standards and practices of any music producer I know, and is one of the best musicians I've met."
